Bjelkeman's travel notes

Travels with the cloud in my pocket.

ReWork the World

I went to ReWork the World in Leksand, Sweden. A conference which focused around the subjects of Entrepreneurship, Youth and Sustainability. I specifically went to see the water track and the finance track.

The most interesting new thing I saw was SolarCool’s cardboard refrigerator,(a photo of one of the inventors explaining how it works).

There are some good presentations which are visible here as video, I specifically recommend:

  • John Liu’s presentation about regenerating eco-systems (you have to click through to about 60% of the video)
  • Hans Rossling’s presentation about demographics (click in a couple of minutes)
  • “Rockstar” scientist, Johan Rockström, talks about Planetary boundaries, which was presented in Nature September 2009 and more presentations about boundaries. Really rather good.
